10 Steps To Packing For A Business Trip

10 Steps To Packing For A Business Trip

Packing for a business trip sounds easy until you consider that you’ll be travelling through different climates, trying to look professional one minute, then feel comfortable the next, and to top it all off, cramming everything into a tiny suitcase. To make this daunting task a little easier, we’ve compiled a packing guide with the help of a few travel experts to make sure that you arrive ready.
We also have a special offer for business travelers this month - Enter promo code “TABJULY” when checking through the shopping cart & receive 20% off of all online orders on 50 Hour 1Above® Effervescent Tablets until 31/07/2016. Offer also applies to 1Above® Tablet Multipack 50 Hour. The four tablets will be sufficient for 10 hours of flying.

Step  One

Write a list. Begin making your list a few weeks before the trip by starting a new note in your phone and writing things down as they come to mind.

Step  Two

Pack your toiletries and electronics. These are often the last things to be packed but can be the most important, so pack them first to avoid last minute cramming.

Step  Three

Choose your shoes. Shoes are the bulkiest kind of item you will pack so keep it simple. Always pack a pair of jandals because they take up next to no room and are handy to wear around the hotel or out for a quick walk if the weather is warm. Also pack a pair of comfortable shoes that can be dressed up or down. If you need another pair, and these are your bulkiest, then plan to wear them on the plane.

Step  Four

Pick versatile outerwear and keep it aside to wear on the plane. Jumpers and coats take up heaps of space so choose one or two staple pieces, such as a black coat and a basic sweater. This will leave room for a variety of inner layers, which you can mix up to create lots of different clothing combinations.

Step  Five

Choose your inner layers then re-evaluate. Start by packing a few of the things you like to wear all the time. Try to steer clear of packing anything that creases easily or needs to be ironed. Spread out all the clothes you want to bring on your bed and evaluate which things are really necessary. Swap brightly coloured or patterned items for plain ones that can be mixed and matched. Always roll your clothes instead of folding them - it minimises creases and takes up less space in your suitcase.

Step  Six

Pack some accessories. Ties and scarves don’t take up much room but they will complement the plain layers you've already packed. A scarf can add interest to a simple outfit without taking up half your suitcase.

Step  Seven

Get your carry on bag ready. Some recommended essentials include: travel pillow, noise cancelling headphones, eye mask and enough 1Above for the length of your journey.

Step  Eight

Pack any other essentials. By now your suitcase is probably full but if there’s some room for a few extras then think about what else you might need.

Step  Nine

Weigh your suitcase. To make sure you don’t get caught out with an unexpected overweight baggage fine, weigh your bag using the bathroom scales to make sure you’re within the airline’s weight restrictions. If you’re a frequent traveler, consider investing in some handheld luggage scales.

Step  Ten

Go back to your list when you arrive home from your trip. Even though this is probably the last thing you feel like doing, it will really help you when you’re getting ready for your next trip. Take anything off the list that you didn’t use and add things you wish you had packed. If you do this after every trip, pretty soon you’ll have the ultimate travel checklist!

If you follow this packing guide, you should be able to tackle any business trip without the extra stress of forgetting something or paying overweight baggage fees. Arrive ready for any weather conditions or occasions knowing you’ve brought everything you need!
