Antioxidants Explained

Antioxidants Explained

Antioxidants you might have heard a lot of talk about but what they are and how they work?

What are antioxidants?

Antioxidants are molecules that fight free radicals in your body.

    What are free radicals?

Free radicals are compounds that can harm your cells if their levels become too high in your body. They’re linked to multiple illnesses, including diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.

Free radicals are constantly being formed in your body. Without antioxidants, free radicals would cause serious harm very quickly, eventually resulting in death.

Although antioxidants are produced by our body, they can be found in foods, especially in fruits, vegetables, and other plant-based, whole foods. Vitamin C and E are effective antioxidants. Berries, green tea, coffee, and dark chocolate are renowned for being good sources of antioxidants.

What is Pycnogenol and why is it called a super-antioxidant?

Pycnogenol, a French maritime pine bark extract is found to contain a unique combination of procyanidins, bioflavonoids and phenolic acids that are known for significant antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity. It is now used in more than 1000 dietary supplements, multivitamins and health products.

Every 1ABOVE tablet contains Pycnogenol along with essential vitamins and minerals. Drinking 1ABOVE helps improve overall health and well-being. Read more about 1ABOVE’s benefits.
