1Above and Timeshifter: How They Work Together for Jet Lag
A plan for your body clock. Support for the journey.
Quick answer: Timeshifter provides personalised timing guidance for light and sleep to help your body clock adjust to a new time zone. 1Above Jet Lag Relief+ helps relieve jet lag symptoms and supports energy and hydration. They can be used alongside each other.
When you cross time zones, your body clock can remain on the schedule you left behind. That can affect when you feel sleepy or alert at your destination. Managing light and sleep is one part of a jet lag plan; supporting energy and hydration through the journey is another.
Timeshifter and 1Above Jet Lag Relief+ approach that journey from different angles. Here is what each does, and how they can fit into one travel plan.
What does Timeshifter do?
Timeshifter is a jet lag planning app. It gives you a personalised schedule for when to seek or avoid light, and offers guidance on sleep and other behaviours around your trip. Its focus is the timing of your body's adjustment to a new time zone.
That matters because jet lag begins when your internal body clock is out of step with local time. Light at the right time can help shift that clock; light at the wrong time can slow the adjustment. A tailored plan is especially useful when you're crossing many time zones or your arrival schedule makes general advice hard to follow.
Where does 1Above make a difference?
A timing plan can guide your choices about light and sleep. 1Above provides support you can take with you.
1Above Jet Lag Relief+ is an effervescent tablet made for use before, during and after a journey. Each tablet is dissolved in 500 mL of water. Its formula combines Pycnogenol®, vitamins and electrolytes to help relieve jet lag symptoms and support energy and hydration. It contains no melatonin or caffeine.
This is a different role from scheduling light exposure. 1Above gives you a practical routine for drinking water and taking the formula before departure, during the flight and after you land.
1Above does not independently reset your body clock. That's why we recommend it alongside well-timed light, sleep and meals, rather than treating it as your entire jet lag strategy.

How could you use them together?
For a long-haul journey, you could use a personalised timing plan to decide when to seek daylight, avoid bright light and aim for sleep. Alongside that plan, follow the 1Above directions before, during and after travel:
- Before departure: Take two 1Above tablets daily for two to three days before your flight. Prepare your light and sleep plan for the destination.
- During the flight: Dissolve one 1Above tablet in 500 mL of water every two to three hours while awake, up to a maximum of seven tablets in 24 hours. Follow your timing plan where practical, including its guidance for sleep and light.
- After arrival: Continue with two 1Above tablets daily for two to three days. Use your timing plan to guide light exposure while you settle into local time.
Always follow the product label. If you use Timeshifter, follow the guidance in your own plan rather than a generic rule for when to get sunlight.
What does the evidence tell us?
The evidence for correctly timed light concerns adjustment of the body clock. Research on Pycnogenol® has also reported improvements in jet lag symptoms. One preliminary study used a particular Pycnogenol® regimen before, during and after flying. It did not test the finished 1Above formula or compare 1Above with Timeshifter. We cannot claim that combining them produces a measured extra benefit, or that one works better than the other.
The practical point is simpler: a body-clock plan and symptom support serve different needs on the same trip. You can use either approach on its own, or bring them together as part of a more complete travel routine.
